Tom and Sandy’s Horseshoe Restaurant and their Ready Set To-Go Meals program started back in 2015 after Mr. Tom was in the hospital undergoing triple bypass surgery. While Tom was in the hospital, they discovered that he was diabetic and had not been eating as well as he should have been. Sandy decided she would find a way for them to have better portion controlled and healthier meals at night. She started with or-dering Blue Apron meals online and felt this was working for them for a while. However, the more she thought and prayed about it, she began to ask herself why couldn’t they offer these kinds of meals themselves and help others who were having similar issues? She researched how to manage the meals with portion control and health in mind and came out with 8 meal choices to offer. She started by just sharing this information on Facebook and talking with locals in the area. By August of 2015 she was prepping and sending out about 30 meals per week. The program only kept growing from there. By the end of the next year, she was prepping and sending out over 1,000 meals per week. Once she started to grow, getting phone calls and messages about expanding her offerings and delivering to surrounding counties. She saw this as a great opportunity to help even more people with her program. By the end of 2018, she was sending out over 2,000 meals per week along with offerings to several different counties. This program is still going strong and progressively growing for them. At this point in time, you can find over 50 different meal options to choose from that are just 500 calories a piece. These meals cater to all kinds of diets and restrictions including offering keto and vegan options. They change the meal options each month based on the season, trends or just great new ideas that they come up with. When she is finished with her prep and if there are any meals left after all the orders are filled, Sandy sends these over to local businesses as a gift. Tom and Sandy are now rounding out the end of this year with over 3,000 meals per week, to over 8 surrounding counties and delivering to many locations.
