Greetings from the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Arts Council, Inc (HPCAC) .  As  president, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our web site.  As described in our mission statement, HPCAC is an organization committed to the arts in our community.  We attempt to program events which reach every citizen in Pulaski County - from Pre-K to Senior Citizens  -  and which bring visitors to our Old Opera House in downtown Hawkinsville. 

With the exception of one paid staff person (20 hours per week), HPCAC is an organization of volunteers working together to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Pulaski County and surrounding communities.   We have over seventy-five volunteers signed up to work in some way for HPCAC - answering the phone, preparing mail outs, conducting tours, selling tickets, passing out programs at events, providing backstage snacks for performers, working lights and sound, and numerous other jobs.  We welcome more volunteers!

I would like to encourage you to become a member of HPCAC, Inc. Membership dues are tax deductible and by becoming a member, you demonstrate that you believe in what we are doing and you are committed to helping keep the arts alive in our community.  Membership dues help pay for electricity, phone, postage and office supplies.  I urge you to become a member today. 

Exciting things will be happening during the 2006-2007 season.  In January, 2007, we will begin a year of celebration as The Old Opera House turns 100 years old!!  Check the web site often for coming activities and concerts as we continue to work together to bring in local talent, sponsor educational activities and be entertained by some wonderful artists.  I am committed to making Hawkinsville/ Pulaski County a great place to live and raise a family, as well as making it attractive to visitors.  HPCAC, Inc. is an effective and satisfying means of achieving those goals.
